H2o Hero Barrel Painting

During my internship at the Rochester Museum & Science Center, I was asked to create a scene using someone else's illustration of the H2o Hero and then paint it onto a water barrel. The illustrations were originally done by David Cowles, who happens to be one of my professors at Nazareth College. It was challenging to free hand draw somebody else's style and also to add elements of my own onto the scene to match David's illustration. Here are some pictures of the process.
